I do not call them. . .ever; the wife does though. My MIL is Marie Barone. . .I am not kidding here. . .:angryteet It really helps that they live 3,000 miles away. . .:peace: :applause: :rolling: I really wanted to have a good relationship with them, but it was not to happen. I put them in their place a couple of months after we got married, at wifey's behest and have lived in wedded bliss ever since, now for more than 25 years. . .:togetherl :inlove:

Well here in Mexico is rude to call them by their first name, so I guess in my case will be "Ma'am" (sp?). Father-in-law passed away before I met my wife. Would have been nice to meet him (I've heard so many good things about him from so many people).

When I was married I called them Mr. and Mrs. (insert last name). I never was comfortable calling them by their first names.

Mom and Dad for since day one they have treated me like their own. My Father-inLaw and I are really great friends and not once in the 18 years that we have been together have they meddled in our marraige. It is interesting though, my in-laws have been maried now for 58 years, my Best Man who happened to be my Brother-in-Law has been married to my wife's sister for 35 years. My other Brother-in-Laws have been married for 28 and 19 years respectively.

I guess you could say that marraige in our family for better or for worse, is truly for life.

Hell boys at my age I call em what they are............... "dead".

I guess you'd have a hard time guessing we didn't have an ideal relationship.

My mother-in-law lives 3 miles from our house, watches our son 2 days a week, and is one of the nicest people I have ever met. I call her mom.

I call my father-in-law by his first name...or dickhead if he is winning at our monthly poker game.

never been comfortable calling anyone else mom and dad, or call them by their first names

I called my first in laws "Mil and Fil" - short for Mother in law and Father in law

I've never called my current in laws anything, just catch their attention...for 10 years hahaha

There was a reason for this question . . .

Last week we were visiting some friends and the guy's parents were there. His wife called them "Mom" and "Dad." Since I never called my in-laws that (I already had a mom and dad, and I was 39 when I got married) I wondered if many did. The result is about what I expected.

I just wouldn't be comfortable and don't think we'd ever get that close to even use "mom and dad." I'd have to spend every waking moment with them and I don't think that's gonna happen
