I hit a high full house last night - Aces over Kings, which was the best hand I have been dealt.

I may have mixed the order of quads and straight flush, but I'm going on memory. At work right now.

Depends on the game, but I've hit Royal's twice in Texas Hold'em.
What was the suit? Were you lucky enough to hit the progressive spade jackpot out at Seminole? Someone hit it for $48K on Tuesday night.

Your list has them out of order...a straight flush beats quads...held a straight flush playing 7-card stud several years ago...9c 10c Jc Qc Kc...missed a royal by one card...unfortunately it was a small pot...:crying:...have seen quads several times playing Hold'Em, and even more often playing Omaha...come to think of it I won a nice sized pot a few nights ago playing PL Omaha with quad 3's

When I used to play, 4-of-a-kind, been one card away from a straight flush quite a few times though.

I honestly don't remember what the suits were and no, lol, I didn't win any progressives. One was online for really low stakes and the other was a home game. Bad timing I guess.

Last summer I was working out of town alot, and one night several co-workers and I started playing poker with a $20 buy in. It was getting late in the evening and one of my plumbers was raising me and would not stop. The hand was called, and he laid down a full house kings over queens, smiling like the joker.

I told him all I had was two pair. He started raking the dough towards his pile, when I laid them down........a pair of aces, and another pair of aces. The look on his face will be with me for the rest of my life. :)

That is definitely a bad beat - in many casinos he would win a jackpot for losing that hand - I think the winner of the hand gets a cut in many places also.

I don't play poker in casinos. I agree it was a bit rude, but up untill that point, he had won all of my beer drinking money for the week.

I confess, I did not feel ALL that bad when I won my discretionary money back.

I've had a couple royal flushes - but none when money was on the line.
Straight flush and quads have been the best for me in those times. In fact 2 years ago I won $1500 playing 25 cent video poker in Lake Tahoe. I hit one straight flush, quad A's 3 times and other quads 4 times.

I wanted to take the machine home with me :awholelot
