I just read
$600 for each working tax payer who made more than $3000
$300 if you made less than $3000
$300 per child

I'm getting $1500 back, but this is not the best idea. But I'll spend it just the same.

If you made >$3000 last year and are a tax payer, you should get $600. At least that's what Yahoo news is saying. If you parent's claimed you as a dependant, then they may get the $300 child rebate.

Hmmm... My dad claims me as a dependent, but I also make more than $3,000 a year.
I guess I'll just wait and see if a check shows up!

Most people won't spend it, it will go to pay down debt.

I absolutely disagree.... there will be a fraction of the individuals who will use it to pay off debt but realistically they are not the ones that have the large amounts to pay off. Those that have the huge numbers of unsecured credit card debt will most likely spend it on frivolous stuff and not pay off debt...

You think the whole subprime thing was bad, wait until the fall out of the unsecured credit card debt... that will hurt...

Crisis #1 - Subprime

Crisis #2 - Unsecured Credit Card Debt (already heard politicians/media talking about it)

Crisis #3 - Student Loans (Just wait its coming)

Personally I doubt I'll see the 300 or 600 or what ever the hell it is. Why don't they just make the rate cuts permanent and the cut them more (lets test Laffer’s Curve a little more).
