I'm starting the search for the wedding venue etc etc and it looks as though the wedding will be the middle of next year.

So I like to plan the important things in life and so while she plans everything else I'm trying to decide cigars to buy and lay down to smoke on our anniversary each year . It will have to have the right box code to match the wedding day. (I've already done it with boxes to match my childrens birthdays.)

It will be a once a year celebration smoke so what are you recommendations for a normal production cigar that has consistently provided great aging potential ?

I wouldn't do edition limitadas or regional releases... You need a classic cigar just like the H. Upmann Sir Winston, Cohiba Lancero/Corona Especiales/Esplindidos or Trinidad Fundadores.

i'll 3rd the Upmann Sir Winstons.....great smoke, and perfect for what you're looking for. However, I'm fairly certain this is cigar that isn't produced regularly (i.e. not ever year, or even every month of every year that it is).....so that might force you to look elsewhere.

Cohiba Esplendidos, even though I've not smoked one.....seem like a good alternative due to reputation alone.

But one that hasn't been mentioned.....and that can be purchased in a 50 cab, and is a dang fine smoke to boot......would be the Partagas Lusitania.

We purchased 2 boxes of Monte Edmundos for my wedding. That was 5 plus years ago. I have one left that is in terrible shape but I'm hoping is still smokable. Don't plan on lighting it anytime soon, time will tell.

Haven't been buying/smoking many CC's lately, but I have heard great things about the Siglo VI in terms of flavor profile and aging potential.

great idea!

Depends on budget and where you are buying them. Humidor release whether Siglo humi, monte ancient humi or books have all been amazing cigars for me and well worth the once a year and price tag on them helps keep you honest
