Austin shuts downtown after dead birds discovered..

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Police shut down 10 blocks of businesses in the heart of downtown early Monday after dozens of birds were found dead in the streets, but officials said preliminary tests showed no dangerous chemicals in the air.

That's awfully strange...would be nice to get a second opinion on the toxicity of the local air...

Wonder if it's some kind of strange outbreak of some kind?

Now something strange in New York...I'm reading the story on CNN.

Is it just me, or does something seem strange? How can you get a "smell" that spreads that far. They were saying it can be smelled for 10 miles.

Yeh I know...When I first saw it this morning my immediate thought was ...How can I use this to my advantage and NOT go into work today? Then I realized that I work 30 miles south of downtown of Austin!
