So I recently had an upper respiratory infection and a sinus infection that resulted in a cough that lasted 6 weeks. Well its been more or less fine for a couple weeks now but I've noticed I have a reduced sense of smell which limits my taste. Cigars just are more bland than they should be. Pisses me off. I've stopped smoking as many premium sticks, mostly just smaller PCRs HUHCs etc until I can start smelling/tasting better again. Anyone ever have anything like this that lingered? I've had a stuffy nose before that limited my smell/taste, but my nose is clear now and I still have a problem. This sucks :(

Try a saline flush to make sure your sinuses are clear. Also, sniffing freshly ground coffee can help. One of the big things is to stop smoking for a few days. It gives your sinuses time to heal up from the damage they experienced.

Ya I took a big break while I was still coughing. Once my sinuses clear up and I wasn't coughing as much I couldn't wait to smoke again, though. I probably didn't give it enough time. It still sensitive to the retrohale, burns a bit. Guess I should just give it more time.
