I'm looking to pick up a box of Edicion Limitadas but I'm not sure which one. Thinking Monti or Part. The Cohibas are out due to price as I would like to be around $200-250 for 10. Anyone have any thoughts on this years crop vs last year or two. I know some online vendors still have some of the 2010s and 2011s.

I am not a big fan of the Edicion Limitadas, and think many of the Regional Edicions are much, much better.

I agree. I'm done buying Cuban ELs. If I want Maduro flavors ill smoke an NC.

I'd use that $200-250 and buy a full 25 ct box of a regular production cc that you love. Depending on what that is, you might have some $ left over for a 10 ct box even.

JMO of course.

I have some of this years' Partagas and will be getting some Monte 520's as many people have raved about them but I too generally stay away from EL's. I figure if it's not my cup of tea, someone would want them and at least I tried before they were gone.

Last year's Partagas ELs are incredibly good. Matt (orangedog) bombed me with one and I was very surprised. That said, I don't think they're generally available anymore. :-(

I do agree with the general sentiment that regular production is more worthwhile, however.

I recently got a 10ct box of the HDM Short Hoyo Piramides, had the first one today and it was an excellent smoke. If you like things on the mild to medium it's a good one. I'm not sure the price is worth it in the big picture, but it's a damn good smoke. I think I might try and hunt down Partagas C3's, I've heard some good things about those.

I love the RA Extra, especially the non-inflated price. I really want to try the HdMs, but can't justify paying the same as 2 Epi#2s. I'd like to try the Monte 520s as well, but again, the price is just stupid.

I probably will get a box of the Partagas, though, because I think Partagas tends to put out great ELs, and the price isn't as insane as the Montes or the Cohibas.

Seems like I've been hearing that the HU Royal Robustos are better than the Els. I do want to try one of them, as I love the Mag 46.

Our humble opinion is the Partages Series D No 5 LE. Amazing smoke, full of classic Cuban grassy/hay notes, with coco and leather mid tones. Over the top good, and age is really adding to the complexity of this stick.
