A cigar from the CAO Bratalia set or a cigar from the CAO Soprano's Trunk Set?

I know both of these sold out a while ago but a local shop owner told me that CAO had some of the soprano's trunks at the IPCPR this year. I know the soprano's are HUGE cigars, but are they a good smoke anyways? I'm hoping to purchase one to smoke during the superbowl this year.... (this is not an iso post Admins... Just seeking the input of the brothers)

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Just personally, I didn't like CAO Italia AT ALL.

I smoked half of one and couldn't smoke any more. To me it actually had an egg-like consistency to the smoke, and the smoke itself had little-to-no flavour.

Bratalias. The Sopranos cigars just don't have a whole lot of anything to keep me interested.

Haven't had the Bratalia, but have had a Soprano and they're okay. So if it were me I might give the Bratalia a whirl, but then again there are some other cigars that come to mind for that kind of festivity.

Granted there probably are countless better options for a Super Bowl cigar but between these two I'd take the Tony Soprano signature series. I didn't expect much from this cigar but I actually liked it. I've only smoked one but I won't forget it. Just hard to find time for a cigar this big. It was sweet with a mild spice. Surprisingly a good cigar IMO.

Honestly, I don't know how smokeable the sticks in these sets are. I mean, have you seen those ridiculous vitolas? Can't imagine they burn well at all. Cool idea. Cool looking...

I hate the branding of the soprano, but IMO it's their best blend. Prob in my top 20 nc. A very good cigar.
The largest size, think it's around 7", seems to have draw issues on the 3 I've had.

A cigar from the CAO Bratalia set or a cigar from the CAO Soprano's Trunk Set?
Excel,

When you say "Trunk Set" do you mean the set of 5 with the bullet, 2 bats and 2 champange bottles?

If so, gimmick sizes - but they will smoke - I've seen people do it.

If you mean the more regular sizes, honestly, I'd say get one of each and just try them. They're different cigars. What you're doing is kind of like asking someone else if you should buy the ice cream, sorbet, gelato or frozen yogurt, and you're only going to try one. What I like or what someone else likes might not be what you end up liking.

I find the Britalia to be more spicy, pronounced and "in-your-face", I find the Sopranos to be more rich, heavy and subtle. I think they are both good cigars, just different. Neither of them are cigars that I smoke many of though. I find the Sopranos to be an easier cigar to smoke when not paying attention to every detail of the cigar, to me, it just kind of rolls together into complimenting the entire experience of a particular event, rather than demanding attention.

Ah...lads these days. Remember when we went out to try out different blends and vitolas as our ever-inquisitive minds wondered how any given stick was like. Not always the very one we wondered about, but one to give us an idea about the former. Those where the days...

If I may, whodeeni (a familiar face, if me memory serves), I suggest ye try out any CAO Soprano/Bratalia ye can get (WTB 5er, for instance) and then act as yer pallate says, which is the way ye'll enjoy the most. And if no one sells a Bratalia, just smoke a Brazil & an Italia together. What's the worse that could happen? We've all tried the wrong cigars looking for a good one.

Glad to see you back my friend, and thanks for the kind words of advice:thumbsup:

Okay so you are referring to the Trunk Set with the bulet, campagne, bat etc shaped cigars.

As for the Bratalia, are you refering to the Artistry of Champion LR that has the 5 cigars - 1 Brazilia special shape, 1 Italia special shape, I Bratalia special shape, 1 Italia Bugle and 1 Brazilia Bugle? Or are you referring to the 10 Bratalias that came in the limited edition humidor - perfecto sized like the DES?
