I haven't tried them yet, but was wondering what cigar you guys would compare the CAO La Traviata to? Is it on the spicy side, what flavors, full, etc?? Yes I have seen some reviews, but just curious what you guys say and can compare it to?

I tried getting one tonight at a local B&M but they only have them on order...

Hated it two months ago. Smoked one a few weeks ago - still hated it. Boring flavor, bitter at the half way point. A total miss in my book.

i was pleasantly surprised by this one. It was better than i expected. a decent medium bodied leathery cigar that's pretty cheap. Similar to me to the Partagas Spanish Rosados.

I agree with Zen. I enjoy the smoke well enough. It's not a super-premium or anything, but it's tasty and smokes very well.

Guess its just another example of the subjectiveness of smoking.

Not I. CAO can't get their act together and ship these things out to LINY.

Wow, that came off as really bitter huh? Yeah, I've been really looking forward to trying them and haven't been able to get them anywhere. Guess if I took into NYC I could pickup a couple, but I don't have that kind of time...

I liked this stick quite a bit, especially at the price point. I got a lot of sweet tobacco, cream, coffee and leather out of it. Very different from any other CAO I've had.

I had one. The draw was a little tight, but it loosened up a little at the halfway point and a little in the last third. I thought the flavors were good (sweet tobacco, leather, very little spice), but they didn't change much as it smoked.

Overall, I thought it was good, especially at the price point. Definitely not great. It was enjoyed, but I'm not rushing out to get more.

Was not as good as the folks made them seem. Decent cigar, but not worth my money buying. JHMO. But, you try it and let us know how you like. I figure, I will let the other that I have sit and retry in 6 months.

I liked it, great price point and it had a nice ligero kick to it.

I gotta disagree with you Jamie, I didn't think it was anything like the Partagas Spanish Rosados, that is one cigar that I could never acquire a taste for, just didn't like it at all.

I just had my first one last night, I ended up keeping it in the humidor for 2 months or so before torching it but I will say, I really like the cigar. It starts with cedar and leather, then builds in leather and has a cream like feel to the smoke, ends with sweet and spicy notes. I've already ordered a 5 pack to sit in the humidor for a bit.

I thought the cigar was average it has some flavor not overpowering or spice but leather and smooth. The price was good and reminds me of a chateau real natural and was priced similar. I would smoke it again only because I bought 2 I may buy it but only if the selection was sparse

A buddy and I each had one at lunch today. Good smoke for $5, nothing special, certainly not even the best CAO. Good for those that like simpler smokes without much complexity. Medium bodied at most, the first third was mostly just a light leather. At the 1/2 way point it brought a little dry cocoa, then the last third went to a slight earthy leather with a bit of nuts as it warmed up. Draw was firm, and required a few back blows to clear out buildup, along with a couple touchups. It doesn't produce much smoke. The finish is mostly just a tobacco and earthiness, no spice. Not the best aftertaste. I've had a bunch that taste just like it, but none of them including this are memorable so I have no idea what they were.
