Why cant there be love all around....

I'm puzzled about something, in talking with a friend today we concluded that the basis of all religion was to love one another, thats why we go to our places of worship.

Them why are we in the early stages of the final countdown to the end and its all about religion???????

There will never be peace in the middle east and people just need to realize that. They've been fighting for thousands of years and it won't stop.
