Why Can't We Say P**P** In Here

I have stopped using the term P**P** in here as I was admonished, and rightfully so, by one of the BOTL'ers. In a recent transaction I used the term as spelled above and the seller asked me why the spelling.

In that I hate the term "because that's the way we've always done it..." can someone explain why we dare not utter P**P** 'round these parts?
