I'm sure this has been asked before but... Can any wine cooler be used as a humidor as long as it has the ability to get to the right temp?

Yes and no. Any cooler can be used as long as it seals airtight. The cooling aspect isn't necessary to use it as a humidor. Unplugged, it would act just like a coolidor. If you need it to regulate the temperature, you shouldn't use one that uses a compressor for cooling. They draw the moisture out of the air.

Correct /\ I have a compressor mini fridge that I'm using but have also hooked up a temperature controlled unit so that the fridge doesn't run all day long. It only turns on to keep the temp I programmed it to and then turns off so no moisture problems here. I went this route because they are insulated better than a winecooler, summers in my house suck so I needed something that was better insulated.
