Well with Super Bowl coming up soon I am sure many of you will be cooking up some wings for the big game. That being said, I thought I would take a few minutes to share my special wing recipe with you all.

Items Needed
Wings (duh)
All Purpose Flour
Texas Pete Wing Sauce
1 Gallon Ziploc bag
Canola Oil
Salt

Take the wings and soak them in salt water for about 2-3 hours.

About 20 minutes before your ready to cook them, heat up the Canola Oil to 350. Yes, I specified Canola Oil because they come out so much better. Peanut Oil would be even better but who wants to pay the price for it.

Get a 1 Gallon Ziploc and place some All-Purpose Flour in it. Take the wings out of the salt water and blot them dry, but not too dry. You want them to be a little moist to collect the flour.

Place the wings in the flour and shake them until they are fully covered.

Drop them in the oil for roughly 20 minutes. You want them to be a dark golden brown color. They should start floating after about 10 minutes.

Next we take some Texas Pete Wing Sauce and pour it into a large round bowl. The bowl we use is huge. It has a locking top to it as well which helps.

Now drop your wings into the bowl with the sauce and then place the lid on it. Roll them all around and shake them about. You will get the hang of how much tossing they will need.

Once that is done... enjoy with your favorite Bleu Cheese or Ranch!!

ENJOY!!!

never tried them breaded, sounds good
I just melt 1 stick butter, and mix my favorite hot sauce to taste, in a saucepan and toss the wings in after i've deep fried them without any seasoning.

They come out slightly breaded this way... nothing like some of the restraunts where there is more breading than meat.

Shiba---you guys got a Beef O' Bradys up in Jacksonville? They make some pretty tasty wings too.
Yes, we have several of them here. Actually my old boss bought one of the franchises.

I still prefer to make my own using the above method... just better in my opinion.

Shiba, I use your method quite often. The brining works great.

Here's another method to try: Soak wings in buttermilk overnight, toss in flour the next day and proceed with frying.

I use a mixture of butter, tabasco, Pete's and Italian dressing for the sauce.

I prefer a little lemon pepper seasoning along with the hot sauce... just a few different flavors to merge together

shiba's method of breading is minimal. I think it helps the wings hold the sauce better. they don't come out all fucked up like hooter's wings. seems like you need a nutcracker to get to the meat.
