So as most of you know, or don't know, I'm new to the brotherhood. This place has been very welcoming, and I definitely plan on staying, so I'll share a bit of my life story.
I've been here in Texas for nearly 16 years now, but i was originally born in Durango, Mexico in a small town called guadalupe victoria. My mom brought me here illegally when she had her visa when I was 5, and my dad is is a citizen but lived in Mexico most his life.
People told my dad throughout my childhood to fix my immigrant status, but he's always had trouble fighting his vices, and finally got around to it when I was turning 18. Here I am, 21, and nearing the final stages of finally being a permanent resident. My dad has pretty much left me to do everything by myself, he just goes when he has to, to sign documents.
This Saturday, I'll be sending a bunch of letters, references, and other things along with nearly 700 dollars pretty much asking to be pardoned for entering illegally(as if had a choice when I was 5). If they grant it, I'll get to stay here while they set up everything, but if by chance I dont, I'll get deported and stay in Mexico for 8 months minimum, and upwards of 2 years.
So in conclusion, I've been left with no money at all after clearing my accounts, but am nearing the final phase of fixing the biggest set back of my life so far.
