Just got an email from cheaphumidors.com containing some of their tips/advice on cigars, humidors and enjoying them. While usually nothing contained really captures my attention there was one line today that did...
"It also is great to cut your cigars with the wrappers on, as it keeps the blade clean and sharp much longer."

Does any one subscribe to this philosophy? Thanks all.

If by wrapper they mean Cello then no. Ive never done that. Probably never will. It seems to me like cellophane is a much tougher material than tobacco so I dont see how it could be good for a cutter. Then again, most stainless steel blades could handle it. I guess it just seems unnecessary.

I do sometimes cut with cello on if I'm just using a regular guillotine style cutter. I have found that it's less likely to crack the wrapper that way.

Otherwise, I just wet the wrapper real well before cutting (whatever style cut I use), and that seems to keep the cap nice.

There are several sites that put info out there that just seems like they had someone write to fill up a page.

If you cut your Tat tubos while they're still in there your cutter is honed and polished as well.
