When pulling a cigar away from my mouth I have been running into the problem of the wrapper sticking to my lips and tearing. Is this common, and what do others do to avoid it? Do people purposefully dampen the head with saliva to avoid this. It only seems to happen shortly after lighting the cigar, not after the head is moist from saliva.

I realize most noob questions have probably been answered before, but I have exhausted my searching capabilities with no success.

I've noticed that chap stick cap sometimes goop up the end a little. Or even add an unpleasant taste to my smoke. Just keep the end a bit damp & you should be good to go bud.

Wet the cigar first, and lick your lips occasionally so they don't get too dry.
I'm sure it's happened to most of us at one time or another....I know for a fact it's happened to me on several occasions.

Just follow the advice given above.

yeah, the chap stick, was a bit tongue in cheek. With winter upon us, the air is drier and we need to moisten our lips more, which creates a vicious cycle. I do kind of rotate the cigar round and round in my mouth so often to keep a nice coat on the head.

Everything else other than cigars that I've smoked in the last ten years I always tried to keep the end as dry as possible so it felt a bit unnatural to moisten the end.
