So I've been having a problem with humidification at the top level of my desktop. I bought Xikar's humidification gel when I stopped by my B&M today. Xikar suggests using their solution. Just to make sure, I should be cool filling this thing up with distilled water, right?

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'll eventually buy beads. Maybe when I can afford a wine cooler solution.

You will spend less money on the beads in the long run! Go in with someone and buy a pound. Keeps the cost down and will allow you to use them as your humidor or coolidor grows.

yeah you should use PG solution. I actually ran a comparison. using distilled water really doesnt hold the humidity as well as using the PG solution. Made the switch to beads when i ran out of PG solution and say beads are well worth the investment.

Usually cheaper to buy the PG at a drugstore and mix with distilled water.

But I would agree with the beads. I have a cooler with beads and a decent sized stand alone humidor with beads and some dry oasis foam and pg/dw mix and they both keep decent humidity.
