This might be a weak thread starter, but bear with me :eyepoke:

So a couple years back I started a birthday tradition for myself. On my birthday, I stop in my local B&M and pick up a special newer release smoke, which I let sit in my humi for one year (until my next birthday). Then, I smoke the previous year's stick and replace it with a new one for the next year. And so it goes...

So in a couple weeks it will be time to replace last year's stick and I am looking for a little inspiration. With all of the great sticks that came out last year, which do you think could benefit from a year of age before trying for the first time?

That is a great idea, I think I will start this myself.
A cigar that will get better with time IMO would be the T52, or Flying Pig. As always the Anejo and Opus are better with age too.

The Tatuaje Black and Red Tubos, most that posted about them felt they needed aging.

Viaje Holiday Blend. I wish that I did this when my kids were born and laid down a specific box to smoke on their birthday and save a pair when they were 18.......oh well, I did Port instead.

Cool tradition. I like the variation of getting a great box of Cubans and smoking one every year on your Birthday. Imagine what they will be like many years down the road. Examples that I think would hold up that long would be H Upman Sir Winnie or VR Don Alejandro.

I like that idea too. Will probably do something similar when I get married, have a kid. A different box to commemorate each occasion.

Love smoking a stick with memories behind it.

Yea I wouldn't say this is a weak thread...in fact the opposite! It's nice to know what cigars are better with aging especially seeing how "WE" concider them an investment!!! :peace:

Thanks for the advice gentlemen.

Looks like I will be hitting the local B&M to track down some Red and Black Tat Tubos. Can't wait to try them next year!
