So... Having been mainly a Boli and Party guy to this point, I've been looking to start branching out into other marcas of late.

Sat down this morning and decided to pick up some PLPCs and a box of Upmanns, but I'm having some trouble deciding between the #2s and the Sir Winnies.

Would certainly appreciate some insights into any preferences you more experienced bros. might have one way or the other.

Thanks!

Coincidentally.....

I'm having this very same dilemna currently. I've smoked a few Upmann 2's, and damn if they haven't been the best 2 of all the cuban pyramides i've smoked (including Montes, VR Unicos, & PSP2).

I've only had one Sir Winnie (and it was young), but that was a very nice smoke. Just a first class stick....not in your face whatsoever, but smooth & elegant is the best way to describe it...and that was fresh (2010)! Imagining what those could turn into is what makes me go back and forth.

The more Upmann I smoke, the more I love em'.

Bottom line........dont' think you can't go wrong.

The Sir Winstons stand in a class by themselves. Like comparing apples to oranges. Either would be an excellent selection but the Sir Winstons would be an experience.

I've been burning through my 2008 Upmann No.2 very quickly.

From the recent Sir Winnies 2006 & 2008 I've sampled they all needed a little more age.

Both are great cigars but if you are wanting someting to smoke right away. Go No.2's if your looking to age get the Winnies.

That said I expect my No.2 will age well. If I can stay away from them.:pitchfork

Agreed... I've always thought the flavors of the #2 were like a diluted Sir Winston. SW is one of my favorite cigars. Top 5 for sure.

I like the current Up 2s coming out. They are smoking great with just 2 years of age. If your not going to box age the Sir Winnies for 5 plus years get the Belis IMO.
Cheers.

The 03's are just starting to hit their stride, an absolutely sublime cigar. While I love the No. 2, the SW is in a different category altogether.

The fresh H.U 2 I have smoked is actually the ONLY cigar I havetasted from 2010-2011 that I think was terrible. That said I think the HU SW from 2010 are the best churchill availible atm. Pull the trigger on the sir winstons.
