I love my iPad. My wife got it for me last year for my birthday. Very convenient for travel and I use it at home to read stuff a lot (Kindle app, newspapers, magazines).

I may be picking one up for the wife soon, her laptop is dying a slow painful death and she will need a new one soon. I hope she lets me use it once in a while lol

Right place, right time....I was able to pickup a slightly used OR iPad for $350.00. It's 64GB, Wi-Fi and 3G and I love this thing!

Surfing the internet and email was all I wanted it for but I have found out I can do alot more with it.

Good luck with that! I bought my girl one last year. I ONLY get to use it, when she needs me to tend to one of her online games.

I'm not sure I'll be getting an ipad but I'll have a tablet soon. Really thinking about the kindle fire I posted a link on the other day but I've been seeing droid tablets in the $250 range too.

I've done some more research into the kindle fire. It depends heavily on amazon content and according to a several articles I've readl amazon is using it to monitor your web browsing, purchases (from everyone) and so forth . Supposedly there is an opt out. I'm opting out bu choosing not to buy it now.
