I have not played with iMessenger enough to figure the groups out, but would be down if someone started one.

Well, now I'm not entirely sure how the group thing works in imessenger either. All I do know is we can talk iphone to iphone along the same lines BB now...

Oh and the group is just a means of instant cigar (and otherwise) sharing. Mostly a group to stick it to BB users.

I don't have a lot of experience with iMessenger since it's not really a part of iCloud.. but here's what I do know. You can message between each other using phone numbers or Apple IDs. Apple ID's are supported because you can use it on iPad and iPod touch running iOS 5.

I haven't messed around enough with it to know if groups are something that they support just yet. Wish I had time to mess around with it more and find out, but I'm so busy with iCloud that I'm neglecting other groups. However, if you figure something out, I'm in. :thumbsup:

Then you are going to have to wait. iMessage isn't quite what BBM is, it does phone to phone well, but (from what I'm told) it isn't ready to be a BBM replacement.

it's good, but not great. Definitely a contender if they clean it up and enhance it further. It looks just like text messages but has peoples names on it in the stream. Bad thing is that you can't "add" someone to an existing group. You need to start an entirely new message to add them.

Am I the only one who doesn't get it? I had BlackBerry phones for 10+ yrs and always just texted, called and emailed. Never used BBM. Now on iOS5, I haven't even bothered playing around with this yet.
