Here in KS the people it went to are already in support of the bill but I still think it's good for them to hear from the constituants when it comes to these issues.

I can tell you, firsthand, that these form letters are treated just like petition signatures... with little regard.

You want to ACTUALLY be heard? Don't fill in a form...... ACTUALLY write a letter to your Congressman from your home address and put a stamp on it. That WILL get read...

I doubt Congressman read any letters from us normal folk unless there's cash in it or promised behind it.

my congresswoman is from my hometown, so wouldn't be surprised to get feedback from her. one senator is a cigar smoker (R). the other is an obama clone.

Thank you for contacting me about H.R. 1639, the Traditional Cigar Manufacturing and Small Business Job Preservation Act of 2011.



As you know, Representative Bill Posey introduced H.R. 1639 on April 15, 2011. This bill would exempt premium cigars from regulation under the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, which was signed into law on June 22, 2009. The bill is currently pending in committee.



Our nation's small businesses, the backbone of our economy, create half of all private sector jobs. At a time when unemployment is nearly 10 percent, an increase in marginal tax rates would stifle small business job creation. During a recession, our priority must be to help businesses succeed. By creating a business-friendly environment with reasonable tax burdens and restricting overreaching government regulation, small businesses can have an opportunity to thrive.



Should this or other legislation affecting premium cigars come to the Senate floor for a vote, I will be sure to keep your thoughts in mind.

Same here. Took less than a day to get responses from State reps. I was shocked and pleased because the responses seemed to be personal and address the issue and not an automated response.

In addition to emailing it, I would select the "printed letter" from that link. copy and paste it to word and then either fax it your self to your elected officials or upload it to faxzero.com and fax it that way. Faxes also have a stronger effect than emails IMO!!!
