I have seen negative comments concerning Thompson Cigar (yes they are annoying with their emails and calls) but as a introductory point I find them to be pretty good. They have some samplers with some quality sticks at "discount" prices, yes not top of line, but plenty 90plus rated. Didnt know what you all think of the sight and if it is worth my time to continue there (i have gotten a humidor and couple differnt sampler packs of the 90 rated ect...) or if there are bigger and better online places to go to (I am in Bahamas so cant just go to a local place to purchase most cigars). I know there are alot of options, but that is part of the problem, dont really know where to start. Thanks for any advice.

No problem yeah I found that cigars international may not always have what you're looking for but they have the best prices you can find.

Check out the sponsors of this site. They are all great internet retailers that you should check out. I've bought from Emersons and Top Shelf/Federal, and plan to do it again in the future.

why is it that P*yp*l gets messed up with stars when you type it but T******* is allowed to be printed? Quick, mods, rectify! Add this to the forbidden list of words!

I only dislike T******* based on heresay an reputation... there is a certain level of trust I'm willing to begin with as it pertains to the broader cigar community, so if they say the place is bad, I'll go with it.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Already saw that T******* (better?) doesnt have nearly as good of a selection and in reality not that great of deals as other sites. So thanks before I spent more time and money there.

Well...

(1) They SET the MSRP as the exclusive retailer on a ton of catalog-only crap...... and then just TELL you they're 85% off the price THEY set to make you FEEL like you're getting a great deal!

(2) They bombard your mailbox, email inbox, and phone message machine with relentless communications and crappy clubs that are hard to stop (under SEVERAL company names, by the way).

(3) As for the clubs, many of them are started inadvertently by customers just thinking they're buying some deal on a sampler pack due to their deceptive advertising practices.

(4) To completely top it all off... they're known for very poor customer service if anything goes wrong.

Apart from all of that... yeah, they're greeeeeaaat! Most guys won't even put their name in type just to ensure nobody Google's it and gets hooked in to be screwed...
You forgot to mention the poor packaging and shipping procedure. Figure at least 10 days in a hot truck on the road from Florida to NY with no form of humidification. Might as well smoke cabbage.

Jackschwartz.com and holts.com are two really good vendors as well as brookelynncigars.com (though many of the brands they have on the website won't have pricing....you have to call them for the info). I've bought from Brookelynn when I was in NC and the staff is always very friendly and engaging.

As far as T's goes....I've bought from them before and was very dissatisfied with my dried out cigars. Rather than fight them for the $40 (since I heard from more than one person about their lack of customer support), I chaulked it up to Cigar Education Tuition. I keep getting their catalogs though. I put them in the bathroom so that when I'm taking a dump, the toilet isn't the only thing full of shit.

As has been said, already... look no further than the top of your screen for some great retailers, that help support this community. :chat:

If you need any further advice, feel free to send out a PM or two, to some of us, and we'll be happy to help.

Check out the site sponsors.

Many years ago I had a horrible experience w\ Thompsons where cigars showed up in bad shape and they didnt live up to their end of the bargain.

Ended up with a partial credit to use on future purchases that showed up also in less than proper condition.

Atlantic Cigar is a site sponsor I use often, good prices, selection and service.

Also frequent Cigar Monster over at Famous Smoke for good deals on fivers, usually with free shipping.
