QUICK ETAs - ALL OF THIS IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE
================================

(and it will - seldom anything in cigars goes as planned...)

T52s - Should start hitting retailer shelves with more regularity in late January. Supply will remain far less than is needed. :/

===

Dirty Rats - Ditto on these - same info.

===

L40s - A few small lots have been used at JD/MS/STS events - these events were scheduled many moons ago and before we knew the about the great LP Shortage of Y2011. So the L40s were used to prevent customer disappointment.

There is a small batch a few hundred boxes that will be released next month - no clue how they will be distributed - that is for the sales guys to sort out.

Whatever they come up with, nobody will be happy... :<

Next small batch will be in late Feb/Early Mar 2012 and then they should be steady small batches every month.

===

LP Unico "A"s - Being used at events now - not for resale.

===

Ratzilla - On indefinite hold - we need to catch up on Dirty Rats first... best case scenario is Summer 2012 unless you get one from my pocket...

===

UF-13s - No current plan to release.

===

Feral Flying Pigs (FFP) - First batch in late November - it will be released in waves of about 800 - 1000 boxes a month for the next 4 months or so as they age/taste right.

This is an Unico Blend and is imo one of our best - so good that we have decided to NOT make this a one-time batch release like the previous FP releases - rather we will continue to make it in small lots like we do Dirty Rats.

Was the MF change due to similarities to the My Father brand name?

I can’t wait to try these cigars! Pre-ordered mine already

Yes...

The "MF" moniker was an internal factory code I assigned to the blend project not thinking about commercial concerns. We started sharing factory samples - MF-4,7,11, and 13... the 4 and the 13 being the most noted of these 4 and it became popular.

About a year later, JD pointed out to me that Pepin's My Father cigars have a "MF" on all their bands, so we on our own contacted them and let them know we didn't intentionally do this and that we were going to change it.

Pepin/Janny/Jamie and Jose never complained or even mentioned it to us, but we pride ourselves on trying to be original and certainly do not want to copy anyone in our biz ever. The do great work over at their factory and using the "MF" once we realized the issue would be disrespectful of their labor and fine company.

So MF has been changed to UF - the UF means Unico Fuerte as this entire blending stream has been unique deviations of the base T52 liga blended to be stronger. So the UF is actually more appropriate...

ps: I actually feel kinda dumb not realizing the MF thing on my own given all the Pepin cigars I have smoked over the years... guess I should pay a little more attention to the bands huh? LOL

As usual, Steve, thank you so much for sharing with us. It's refreshing to get the info straight from the source. Just another testimony of your company's great customer relations.

Also, always nice not having to rely on b******s to break the story, and rely on them for their great insight!

Thanks for the update, Steve! I'll be looking out for the L40s around here. Any chance we'll see Jonathan or someone else for an event in the DC area? Would love to get my hands on some of those LP As.

I initially had thought you guys moved away from the MF moniker because of it being too close to the name of the Illusion MJ12. I didn't even think about the My Father reference until I spoke to some guys at the lounge about it. Stand up move nonetheless!

Any word on the UF4? That seems to be the only one Steve didn't mention here ... great info BTW, Steve, thanks a lot for that.

I'm looking forward the FFP for sure, and the L40 and UF4 whenever I can get my hands on some.

Smoked an L40 last night. Was able to pick up a box. Great smoke, but IMO needs a little rest. Wasn't ready OTT. Great construction, but had to relight several times and the flavor wasn't quite there.

Smoking a UF4 right now. Split a bundle and wish I would have gotten the whole thing. UF must stand for unfuckingreal. What a great smoke. Strength of the T52, which Im not a huge fan of (the LP9 is my all time favorite smoke) but seems so much smoother. Instant classic.

Will buy any that I find.

JD, as always, you guys put the best stuff out.

January for more Dirty Rats... I've been done to my last one for weeks now. Thanks for the update. The whole lineup sounds wonderful and I can't wait to try each one.
