Thoes of you who know me know I'm American through and through and love my American flag. Being a Veteran I hold our servicemen and public servents in high regard. This article really put's me on the fence for the first time...but only because it makes me concerned who are the scumbags living next door?
Curious to hear what you think?

I thought is was illegal to prevent the American flag from being displayed. :dunno:

He should do what is best for him. He sounds like a proud man that doesn't need to hang the flag to demonstrate his love for his country, he did so by serving.

How about hanging it inside covering his window with the shades up?

That's how I feel as well...But I can see the problem with other people then saying it's okay to hang items that might create hate or violence.
It's a shame the American flag is held in that regard to the place he lives in but people ar ignorant these days...Just a damn shame.:frown:

Bullshit. I feel bad for him having to admittedly bite his tongue and fold up his flag just because he needs a place to live. That building manager needs to wake up and realize the American Flag is not just another flag, and it is not to be treated as such.

Absolutely shameful. There are a lot of symbols you could display that are ambiguous and might upset some people. I even understand that some (incredibly misguided) people are upset by the American flag. But this is the United States, and people should always be free to honor the country by displaying its flag.

Reminds me of this story, where a fascist homeowners' association tried to prohibit a retired Marine from flying the American flag because it "caused noise to other homeowners":

I say send me his address and I'll have a free standing flag stand, pole and flag shipped to him so he can fly a flag without attaching anything to the exterior wall. That's what I say.

I'd hang it in my living room window. They said he can't hang it outside....they never said anything about haning it inside.

Unfortunatly, there is a large group of people out there that want to reap the benefits of this country but don't want to honor the very country that provides those befits all-the-while hiding behind the rights that our Constitution provides. I can't stand the ungrateful pricks and wish they would find a nice tall cliff and jump.

Yeah to me liberals are the same as dirty hippies so if we get rid of the dirty liberal hippies no more issues like this would happen not saying the conservatives are any better with some thing that's just my opion.

Before you went on your rant, did you even bother to do a little research about who manages the complex where this guy lives?

The St Vincent de Paul Society (“SVP”) is an international Roman Catholic voluntary organization dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need.

Yup, those dirty liberal hippies.....:squinteye

Think this only covers HOA's. This might be a freedom of speech issue.
Ahhhh....I stand corrected then. When I read the article, it did say that they provided him with a flagpole, albeit a cheap one from its description.

It would be a very nice gesture to donate a real one.
