Hi all,
I bought a box of Partagas Cifuentes Enero about 1 1/2 years ago and smoked around 6 of them shortly after. Every one of them were plugged to the point of being unsmokable. The other day I got curious and pulled one out to smoke. Turns out it smoked perfect. I've had three in the last three days and they've all been perfect draws. They've been stored at 68% for the entire time.
The question is: Does decomposition through aging tend to clear up plugged cigars? Anyone have a similar experience?

When you say plugged, do you mean absolutely no draw whatsoever? If they are truely plugged time would not help. If they are just very tight so as to make smoking them difficult, or unpleasant, then long term reduced humidity storage may help. The cigars may have been overhumidified when you got them. So keeping them steady for a while would make a difference.

I was getting some smoke out of them but the draw was so tight as to render them unsmokable. At the time, I thought that since they were all smoking the same that it was a construction issue. I put them away not quite knowing what to do with them. It makes sense that they might have been over humidified to begin with and that over time that humidity was brought down. Thanks!
