So what goes with guitars, VWs, brewing your own beer, electronics, and HAM radio? Seems to be cigars for me!

Relatively new to the cigar scene, and I'm making plenty of noob discoveries (aka mistakes) and learning the lessons. I don't know that there's much of a substitute for listening/reading from those with some experience and then trying to find which parts work for me and those which don't. A lot of great information here, and I appreciate those who take the time to share. :tiphat:

I've got a couple of humidors that saw service with owners who upgraded, and one gent was kind enough to steer me in the general direction of decent cigars. I've taken a shining to La Gloria Cubanas, A. Fuente, and yes, even 5 Vegas. I figure my palate will refine and change as time goes on, so I'm not looking to settle down any time soon with just one smoke.

This site has a nice sense of camaraderie to it -- not the typical internet site where it's an anonymous opportunity to knock people. This is people sharing their knowledge and good tidings, and for that, I'm happy to be here.

Would eventually like to get into trading, but in the meantime I'm gonna be in learn mode.

welcome from kentucky! glad to have you. also, your initial opinion of this site seems to hold true; one of the few bastions of non-bastardry on the nets. seriously, you ask and you will get answers ( and maybe a little heckling, but it is a group of mostly males). even rarer, most of the answers you get will be either relevant, helpful, or both!

welcome to BOTL, dude.

Welcome from the Bahamas. As others have said, you couldnt be more right about the type of guys here. I joined last month and have been blown away from the knowledge these guys have passed to me either indirectly or directly. PLUS, if you dont want to talk about cigars and just BS about other things, this is also the place for that. WELCOME.

Welcome!! I am new to the boards also. This is definitely the place to be. The people on here that I have talked to, have been more than helpful and respectful. Enjoy.

Welcome bro, I used to live in Santa Ynez and have spent quite a bit of time between SLO and Santa Barbara. If I were insanely rich, I would probably settle in that area ;)

Thanks all for the warm welcomes!

GoingPostal, I'm way south of you ... think Vandenberg AFBish.

And while it's a pretty area, the state is a utter mess. Looking at getting out of here ASAP.

Happy trails :ccowboy:
