It was a gorgeus day here in Central WI so I decided to drive to Lake Country cigars. I lit up my Anejo and it was going great until the final third. I had a sharp bitter taste in my mouth so I look at the of the cigar and their was some tar oozing out the end.

I finished the cigar but was careful to not touch the end of the cigar. I never experienced this before and it won't stop me from smoking more.

I did smoke one of the Illusione MJ12 Maduro on the way home and it was just perfect. Great cigar and I love the taste.

Hate when that happens. If I get tar build up like that i usually clip a bit more off the cigar which usually helps.

Bummer. That is one of my favorite cigars, so I can imagine how irritating it would be to light one up and have it be off. One of the perils of a handmade product, I guess...

I will clip the end as well but unfortunately I was driving. I've smoked my fair share of Anejo's and never had it happen before.

I also picked up an Alec Bradley Fine & Rare. Looking forward to lighting up this stick.

The 77 & 55's are my faves in the line, but... While I haven't had the tar issue, I've had the same flavor issue with some of the new batches. I've put them down & been rotating in the younger & smoking some older ones I've had for a little while.

+1 for not enough cap removed. I almost always end up snipping a little more off on belicosas half way through. I lit up an awesome 3 yr old shark last night to celebrate my Lions first playoff appearance of this millennium but sadly, like my shark, it was over right after halftime.

I am having my own Fuente mishap today I decided to smoke a 2006 God of Fire Double Robusto today. I keep my smokes in perfect storage conditions and rarely ever have construction issues especially with high end cigars. I am pissed at this thing as it has exploded on me. Pisses me off. *sigh*

Nah. Very mild day in NC. Probably a fluke but no less frustrating for it. Especially on a pricey stick like this.

It's weird this is one of my all time favorite nons and I smoke a lot of them and never had this happen, But a good friend comes over last summer and I swear 2 out of 3 of his own 77's this exact same thing happened to over a couple week period. I can't figure it out. I had him try one of mine a it was fine. go figure.

Thanks for the idea and I will keep that in mind when smoking my next figurado. Overall I was happy as it didn't happen until the final third. I never even paid attention to tar until a post about tar a few months ago.
