After reading through some posts from others about this brand I decided to get one and try it out.

This is the Series V Torpedo.

Burn is fairly even and the draw is quite nice. You do have to stay on top of it if you don't want to relight it though. It certainly would go out of left unattended for a couple mins.

Seems almost on the mild side compare to the Punch (NC) I had a couple days ago.

Quite nice. I'll certainly try some of their other cigars.

qualify but agree: oliva makes heavy but balanced cigars. if balance is kept, you can smoke an asskicker that actually doesn't kick your ass!

oh, and if you liked, buy some of the current v maduro '11's. not a huge investment, but they are great!

Love the V. Tried the double Toro last night, and confirmed the fact that I prefer the 54 rings - Double Robusto & Belicoso. Next, I want to get my hands on a Lancero for comparison.

I'm a huge fan of the V in all of its forms. It's my stand-by when I just don't know what I really want to smoke, and it never lets me down.

I agree. You can get a nice box of 10 for $80. It's a toro size this year, and they stayed with the Mexican wrapper, but they are a value at $8, imo.

If you would like a milder cigar that goes well with a cup of coffee in the morning, I would try their Connecticut Reserve. Their Serie O is okay, and their G in both wrappers is a little harsh IMO.
