So, after I had my first cigar bar experience which turned out awfully, I've found that the trouble I've had with my first humidor has reached a point where it has to be returned.

Basically, a bracket that holds the tray was not attached when the humidor arrived due to a guy who can't operate a brad gun properly, and after following the manufacturers advice on trying to glue it a couple times, I'm just at my wits end.

This is supposedly a "high quality" respected vendor, but I've found them to be anything but so far. Offering to give me 10% off my next order wasn't really a motivator. I've emailed them again asking for a return shipping label and refund.

My rant is that I'm sick of being a noob and having to deal with crappy vendors until I can make some good contacts on my own. If this forum wasn't around, and I didn't have the benefit of your combined assistance, I probably would have made ten times the mistakes by now though.

So, thanks gentlemen, for that I am thankful.

Now to get these sticks into a better home...

coolers are cheap and easy and work. bootleg to look at, but reliable. worth considering.

and sorry about the box, and the douchy vendor. bad box is agrivating, bad merchant is infuriating.

Wow, this is like day-zha-voo and the reason i have a tupperdor. My first "high quality" humi was a bust so i gave up and went with a tupperdor and a boveda..well till i can afford a wine chiller.

Thanks guys. Looking at a wineador option right now.

Shocker, but still no response from the vendor regarding my refund request. I guess tomorrow they get a "friendly" call.

Get a cooler until you can find a good deal on a humidity you like. Or just keep the cooler.
To be honest this is probably the best advice going, until recently I'd been in a coleman cooler for almost a year and a half and it worked great for me.
A quick wash to get rid of the plastic smell, some cedar shelves and some beads are all you need (and of course to make sure the cooler seals well). This is probably is your cheapest and most efficient option given the space it offers you to grow until you're ready to move into a thermoelectric or cabinet model.

There are also some GREAT FAQs and how to's Here:http://www.botl.org/community/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11
