Robusto - Jar Release:
2 years later and these are amazing smokes still going strong. I had one during lunch today and plenty of flavor intensity and richness with only a little burn in the retrohale. Plenty of that maple syrup on steak flavor, but better integrated with other flavors coming out.

Smoked the DES yesterday and think these are ready now. Not sure how much more life they have in them with no burn in the retrohale. Plenty of sweet maple syrup on steak flavor but not as intense or rich as the robusto jar release. The final third was easily the best part of this smoke.

Smoked the lancero the previous day. This one burned the sinuses with plenty of that peppery, charred steak flavor I associate with Viaje LEs along with the sweet maple syrup providing richness. Those flavors are pretty much overwhelming the other flavors at his point. I hope it ages like the jar release has.

It was interesting comparing these three sticks with similar flavors through all of them. I was surprised at how evolved and easy to smoke the DES was and how much more intensity the jar release still has.

Next up: The Holiday Blends.

Jar release are amazing and the Chiquito's are right behind. The lances seemed a bit wet to me but I only smoked one. Have fun with the HB's. This years will be stellar.

Yep, I gave up on Viaje long ago but have held onto my Exclusivo Jar release, 2nd release Robusto and OR Chiquitos as I thought they were great smokes. I haven't smoked one in a few months but will do so soon. :)

Agreed....The jar release and the '09 Holiday Blend are just wonderful, rich, complex smokes. Tribute to a well made cigar created with an awesome blend that these are both smoking so well after a few years.

Thanks for the intel on the vertical Steve! I haven't tried a Lancero yet, but
i definitely agree with you on the Jar Release. I got a very unique flavor out
of the DES when I last smoked one, but that's been a while ago.

To me the DES was the best Viaje release. I have a couple left and just can't get myself to smoke them...hopeing they'll mate and reproduce I guess..HA!
