Hey guys. I'm looking for a good holder for my humidity beads. I had one rectangular humidifier that comes with the humidor which is about 6"x2" and 1" height. It normally comes with that green floral foam crap in it which I took out and I took out the metal screen and replaced it with a finer plastic mesh screen. Works good but I need another for winter time since I need to add a LOT of humidity for my 250 count humidor.

I recently bought 2 spanish cedar bead holder boxes which are 6"x2" and 2" height. However after I seasoned them and then added the beads, the wood warped.

So I'm looking for a plastic container. Something with good surface area, and maybe so I can attach it to the bottom side of my humidor for more room.

Any thoughts or ideas?

I know people suggest pantyhose but I'd prefer some kind of container because I really have to saturate my beads to hold humidity in the winter time. With pantyhose excess water would seep through to the bottom of the humidor.

I know I way over paid....but I just ordered some of the empty tubes from Heartfelt.

I'm tired of using the white tie-string bag...and want some tubes to put in each individual drawer in my Vino etc.

At least I didn't have to go anywhere though....so there's that.

office supply store would probably be your best bet. another is just go get some plastic tupperware and poke holes in it. either way it's going to take some valuable space.

My question/concern is that you shouldn't have to soak your beads to the point the water would drip from pantyhose. Rh is tougher to regulate in the winter (either heater is cranked or very cold) but you may want to think about moving the humidor to a different location. Never had a desktop that big but back when i had a 100 ct I had to stragically place beads to get the RH just right.

I actually found someone who does acrylic work and I'm going to make up a prototype for him. I'm thinking something like the traditional rectangular humidifier size but vertical. So 6" long, 1.5" deep, and 2.5" tall with vented sides. Meant to stand upright for more surface area. Would fit well up against the side of my humidor and save a lot of room.

so what you are saying is you want this, but with more holes? This was the first one I made for my desktop, but decided I wanted to have holes in the sides. I started drilling by hand, and said f-that. slapped some acrylic back on the cnc, cut a new one, and let the cnc drill several hundred holes in the sides.
