Maybe it's just me, but I found this cigar beautifully constructed but lacking in flavor. Kind of boring and bland. Maybe I was expecting too much... Or maybe I should have just smoked a Padron Maduro instead...

Let's be clear. GoF Serie B is nothing like GoF by Carlito or Don Carlos. Serie B robusto gordo 54 (cigar John is referring to) is wrapped in thick, rugged looking, Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper with plenty of thick veins and clearly visible seams. Flavors are more on an aggressive side compared to Carlito / Don Carlos. I have yet to smoke Toro (Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro) but the wrapper itself is making me think that I will enjoy Toro over robusto.

I do agree that Serie B would benefit from some aging but I wouldn't agree that the cigar lacked flavors or strength. Quite the opposite. Enjoy them !

I smoked one of each so far and I agree with you. The remainder of each box is buried in my humi and shall emerge sometime this Summer for a visit.

I think I wasn't clear... Rather than a total lack of flavor, my experience was that the flavor was not particularly enjoyable, one dimensional, monotonous and flat. I was expecting changes and complexity and just didn't get that. No doubt age would help.

I will try the toro, due to the broadleaf wrapper. Also, the Don Carlos, which sounds like it is more like what I was hoping for here.

I agree they do look great but usually I find them very flat even with a few years of age on them.
