If after cutting I find a cigar too tight, I'll usually dry box it (just leave it out in the winter months) if I plan to smoke it soon. But more often I just grab something else.

It could be the 2011 HBs just arrived wet. It could also be they weren't rested long enough either before or after rolling. Tobacco needs to age at various intervals in order to burn right.

When I was a newb I just bought a humidor bead canister not knowing that 65% is what it should ideally be. The one I grabbed was 70% and have used it since, I just take the cigars out I want to smoke in the morning and then smoke them in the afternoon time after they rested for a few hours. One of these days I just need to buy new beads, but its not the biggest deal for me. The only cigars I dry box for 24 hours are my Opus / anejos / pigs.

I have a hard time dry boxing here, normally ambient RH is higher than in the humi since we tend to keep the windows open.

I wish I had dry-boxed my Viaje Holiday Blend 2011. I smoked my one and only yesterday, and it had major burn problems. I had to toss it with about two inches left because I couldn't stand the constant relighting.
