I had one of these and I was not impressed with it. It was hollow actually and I couldn't keep it lit. It didn't taste that great, but I don't know if its because of that or not. What's your experience with these? Is that a common problem?

I did have that problem with my first dirty rat. It was one I received in a cigar.com Christmas 2010 sampler. But I decided to give it another try and now I can't get enough. Must have just been a bad stick. You will run into a bad/not so great stick in the bunch with almost all cigars.

Never had a single issue and I've smoked a couple boxes worth. How was it kept?
I bought it at my local b&m. It was stored at 65% just like my other cigars. I would like to try one, but they are all out of them right now.

Like any hand rolled stick, you bound to have some issues on occasion. Per LP's in general, i have found they do tend to absorb a lot of humidity, so the previous comments regarding this are valid IME

The only problem I have with them staying lit is at the end...when there's not more cigar. Hard to correct that. Not a common problem at all from what others have said and from my own experience with the DR and other LP products. They're usually pretty awesome at quality control.

Smoked one today that I had left in my travel case for 3 days and it smoked perfectly and tasted great! So in most cases try and dry box them, it can't hurt IMHO.
