being sick sucks!

so the ohio river valley has rained allergens down upon us, once again, and my sinuses and bronchial pathways are paying for it. i cannot taste anything really, and only feel like eating to balance out the cold medicine. smoking a cigar is out, i am not going to waste one (do have a small stash of villager exports, but they just remind me i actually want to enjoy one).

any tips, tricks, home remedies? any imput to elevate the spirit and alleviate the body?

Have you tried using a neti pot? Walgreen's sells a couple of versions that are inexpensive.

I don't have issues a lot, but when I do they are a life saver.

actually, usually the type to take it out on others. and, as i cannot abuse the hospitality of the wife any more than necessary...

No apology needed, no slight taken on my part. I agree, it's not the most comfortable thing to use, but it does help.

Hot Toddy!!!
1.5oz Courvoiser or anyother fine cognac
1oz honey
1/3oz lemonjuice
3 cloves
Fingertip size of fresh ginger (size .5"x.5")
3oz water

Bring all ingredients to boil, minus cognac. Remove from heat, throw in congac.....and enjoy!
Double the above recipe to feel extra better!!!

no booze here, sir, but that is a life saver! this neighborhood, though, we use bourbon. o)

thinking some tea with a heap of agave nectar wouldn't suck though.

Been sick for almost a week. Took Oscillococcinum a couple days ago and it seemed to help. I been using the Neilsrinse nasal douche for years, swear by it!
Hope you feel better. I am almost over it.

I got that fricken' head cold going around. Tried to push through a smoke last night and am paying for it today.

The Nedi pot only gives the amoeba to the idiots that use straight tap water. I am pretty sure you have some distilled water laying around or a microwave. Just make sure you let it cool off before attempting:)
