Baitfish or Cromagnon?

I had a Cromag Anthropology (gran corona) last week that was one of the best cigars I've had in a long time. Ordered a 5'r about this time last year to give them a shot, smoked one after a few weeks and it was a bit rough. So, I sat on the rest of 'em for the past year or thereabouts, fired one up last week, and it was really, really good.
Beautiful oily sheen, full-bodied and strong, but not at all harsh... I'm planning to pick up a size sampler or two in the near future, and likely a box (cube) to follow once I have a size preference (and free up some space in my humi).
Also, met Skip about a month ago at my local, and he seems like a good guy...
Have yet to try the baitfish, so can't speak to that, but folks sure seem to like it, so I'd recommend picking up a 5'r of both, if you can swing it...

not sure how you really compare those two sticks. they have little to nothing in common. imo. in other words, i don't think they are interchangeable, so it depends on what type of smoke you're looking for.
This is exactly what I was thinking. If you want a quick little smoke then obviously Baitfish is the choice. If you want something bigger and fuller then CroMag is your best bet.
With that being said, if I HAD to chose I'd go CroMag 9/10 times. Stick to the smaller sizes though like Anthro, Mandible and Knuckle Dragger. Cranium was good but smaller sizes were better IMO.
Ahh! You veterans gotta remember that I'm not trying to compare the sticks. I'm still in the "taste everything" mode, so I can drill down on what my personal tastes really are so I don't buy boxes that I don't appreciate.
My budget just isn't infinite, so I can't quite get them all bought and sampled as quickly as I'd like.

I completely agree. Two different smokes, both good in their own rite.
haha, I got ya. Then I'd personally go with the CroMag. More variety as far as sizes to try if you like the blend. Or you can pick up a 5 pack of Baitfish and then maybe a sampler of the CroMags. I think it has one of each size.

Go with your gut...Only you know which you like more. If you haven't had either I'd suggest you buy 3 of each then decide from there. I learned along time ago not to put all your eggs in one basket.

I've said it over and over, Skip is well on his way to building a brand that will endure. He has the passion for sure, plus he is putting in the hard work in Nicaragua - which is essential in becoming a true manufacturer. Additionally, he is a man of high moral character and substance.
While the BAIT FISH and the Cro-Mag are surely in two different strength categories (BF - Medium Full : CM - Full Extra), they both will provide a quality experience.

The reviews I've read of the cromagnon get my attention for the same reason as your description of this year's T52s. Dark, oily and super full-flavored.
I really like the oil it appears.
I'm not a huge fan of not banding though, because that means I have to either remember what they are or label them myself. Maybe that sounds petty, I just can't help it.
