Hey guys. For the last 6 years I have been collecting the cigar bands I smoke and just tossing them into an unused humidor. I still have the band from the first cigar I ever smoked (Mac Hampton Court).

I picked up a foam board to put them on and want to get that framed when I am done. I know some people that have done this will only use premium brand bands or call on others for their unused bands. I want mine to be all the cigars that I have personally smoked, so all bands are fair game.

I plan on going from top left corner to bottom right corner. The first band applied is the one from that Hampton Court I mentioned earlier them moving diagonally down to the bottom corner in roughly the order they were smoked. Roughly, as I in no way remember the order over 6 years. The bands will obviously increase in quality as the project goes on.

I will post updates here if there is any interest.

I do have a question. The board is about 4 feet by 3 feet. Does anybody have an idea what this might cost to get framed when done? I know places like JoAnn fabrics do custom framing, but have no idea the cost.

Thanks in advance.

Here are the first pics:

Obviously not all the bands are in mint condition. haha But that doesn't matter to me.

I often hate to throw out the elaborate bands, like La Aroma De Cuba, and others. The LADC EE band has a really cool scenic on it.

On one of the other forums long ago some guy made a coffee table with a glass top and hundreds of bands under the glass. It was nice!

Champions,

If you frame it and hang it in your local Arbys, and take sufficient photos of course, I will chip in to pay your bail expenses.

Just sayin ... LOL

Done. I'll post a picture of it hanging up in my Arby's. Wish I could find some uzi bands locally to put on here. haha

Pick out a frame before you start so that you can get your borders right, and try laying the bands out before gluing so you can get a feel for the color balance and layout.
I have done Band Art for decades,it pays to plan it first.........

Too late on both. :( I'm still feeling good about it though.

Updated pic. Taking a bit longer than I thought. Also I think I am going to frame it "widescreen". I am going to cut about 10 inches from the bottom.
