I never thought I'd get a chance to try the Rasputin XIV. Really excited, I would have bought more but at 19.99 for a 500ml bottle two was my max.

Can you put on a pair of those glasses with the mustache and go with your wife? I chatted with the beer buyer at one of the places I shop and he told me that he wasn't even getting an allocation of the better half (apparently its all by volume of sales and this place does't do a whole lot of the rarer stuff, more of the cases of amstel etc.) Grab all you can like you told me lol. Luckily I'm still dieting as they got their second and last shipment of hopslam in today as well as Troegs Nugget Nector. G1

I think in this case they really have to. From what I gathered, the places which even got these were allocated a case of 12 bombers, and the places that got em were again, volume sellers of Founders. The place where I talked to the guy has a very large beer section, and gets most of the rare releases, he told me, they just don't' sell a lot of Founders regular lines thus not getting the rarer releases. He gets everything that comes in the 4 or 6 packs, but he's never gotten the bomber releases. G1

You can get more of the barrel aged? I'm curious now that BeerAdvocate was talking it up yesterday. The Sixth Glass really is a great quad. I was very impressed!Slippery slope my ass!

Only two of my shops got it and all of the others were told that it was lottery / volume pick. Even with volume (which one had and does A LOT of limited release sales) did not get it. One of the shops was sold out and the other held a online lottery for FB friends to purchase said bottles. Worse than hunting for Tats at times
Luckily was able to try via Jere along with a bottle of CBS last weekend for a side by side test and they were both amazing. But if you do find a bottle of better half...you will not be disappointing at all...When I make it back to the bottle shop, and if there's any left Cliff...i'll grab you a bottle. There was only one left after I grabbed these two, but they may have had more in stock in the back. The gal told be me about it last time I was in there, and that they'd just gotten it in...but I was already checking out, and had plenty of other bottles already.
Your Sixth Glass, and then BA's follow up regarding the BBQ last night inspired me to go back....
And then I saw the sours, and chit started going sideways on me.....lol. Sixth Glass was the cheapest bottle I bought, and by quite a bit!
The Rasputin is by far my favorite bourbon barrel beer. It's pricey but very good.
Now that's a damn fine beer haul right there!

You say "landed"....as in this beer bounty was shipped to you? If so, that's committment to the craft!!
I've had 12 bottles shipped to me many times, but 2 cases is out of my scope. At least at present time anyways.......BUT......things change, and for beers such as those, that could happen sooner rather than later!..lol.
