I have started building a new larger cooler and now i need shelves...

i used wire shelves on my smaller one as the slots were almost full depth, the igloo 150 marine have half depth shelves so i have been looking at wood shelves. i know they take up space but its ok for now.

of course we have spanish cedar, i cant source it locally but i can order it, i almost want the shelves to be solid, but i can make some out of pieces if need be.

i have heard of using poplar, i can get this locally but i would have to "build" the shelves instead of just shaping them.

when i have talked to people about mahogany they think its crazy tp use mahogany for anything for some reason.

i have access to tons of oak, but i'm worried it might not be good for "humidors"

yall give me some ideas or point me in a good direction on what to do

thats botls

Send Golf Nut a pm with some dimensions, he could have them cut to fit and sent out for a decent price. No work and they will look great..

Yes best advice, you can also go to his website, winedors.com he has some stuff already for the 150 qt coolers.

I'm no woodworker but Spanish cedar has been used in humidors for decades for a reason, so why go with anything else. I have a 48qt cooler and i just ordered some spanish cedar from ebay and cut it to the dimensions i needed just be sure you get kiln dried spanish cedar, made that mistake it's a headache you don't want.
