Well... I typically just keep adding to old threads so I don't look like a thread-whore, but I think this is much deserving of it's own thread. So, some of you will have seen this in my "Sampler" question thread. It's always fun being the new guy when starting a hobby and not knowing shit about it. All sorts of dumb questions and comments. I'll keep 'em coming. Anyway, I'm getting thoroughly hammered from the Canadian Bombing Corp. I'm still dazed and trying the grasp the magnitude of the packages landing on my doorstep. This is fuuuuuuuuuuuuun!

I don't want to give too much away to other unsuspecting newbs, so if this goes too far let me know and I'll rip stuff out... but I feel it necessary to give a shoutout to those who have kicked my ass royally.

It started off with bdc30 finally stumbling into me on the boards and realizing I was his assigned newb in the newbie sampler thread... sampler... ha, I see the irony now! He fired off a 3.5 KG (7+ LB) missile via Canada Post.

Then wilfredsimpson got in on the action and launched a PriorityPost offensive. It arrived first:

Keep reading... this isn't done yet!

While the motherload from bdc30 was still circling the area, yet another shot came from thatjohnguy. Perfectly timed, both boxes showed up at the same time. Here's a verbatim plop of my original post that I put in a poor place (Samplers from an online retailer)

I was watching the Canada post website like a hawk. I saw that two packages had been delivered and the suspense was killing me. I couldn't work, I even had a hard time slacking off properly as my mind kept wandering back to what could possibly weigh 3.5KG and was sitting in my kitchen waiting for me to rip into it. So, without further ado... the unboxing of a Canadian Mail Bomb!

The Box (US Dollar for perspective):

Inside "The Box":

Another package within the package:

It's a freakin humidor! Awesome!

And goodies in the humidor.

15 sticks and a tube of heartfelt beads.

And displayed all pretty-like:

And yet another welcome package from my new Brothers!

With something to smoke, something to cut the smokes, and something to light the smokes! Quite the care package!

The sticks!
I've stumbled upon some secret documents that lead me to believe the war is not over. It appears they may not be done with me yet. But since someone left the door open to the secret hideout, I was able to do some recon and can now brace myself for impact. Wait..... what's that I hear..... it sounds like something.... falling..... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhahahhahahhah!

It was probably my intro and first post or three. The stink of unsuspecting noob was coming thru their monitors I suppose. Well, for the record, I'm glad they could smell me clear across Canada! :stretchgr

Stogiecidal got in on the action too... way to kick a guy when he's down! :cryloud: The Canada Post guy handed my wife the package with a perplexed look on his face. All I gotta say is quit whining bub... I gots me some stogies comin!

Ahhhhh.... another box.

What was in da box.

And the result of the repeated assault on my mailbox? Here it is. I couldn't be happier with the damage. To hell with a pristene white mail storage vessel. I prefer mine dinted, maimed, and totally unrecognizable.

Is this the end of the CBC's bombing run? Or am I in for a second wave? I think since I stumbed upon their secret lair I may be able to catch wind of further assults. Maybe.

Glad they arrived safe, Devon. Enjoy brother!

You a photographer by profession?? :dunno:

Love the photo documentation
Nope, just yet another hobby. Along with hockey, home theatre, running, weightlifting, reading, wakeboarding, and boating.

I've been taking photography classes for something to do... finding out if I have an "artistic side". :scratchhe
