Storage in original cigar box?

Hey guys,

I was wondering what your thoughts were on keeping cigars stored in their original box inside a plastic bag? I want to keep the cigars in their box but I will include a Boveda Pack for humiditiy and then keep that entire box in a ziplock bag? Thoughts???

long term, that is not going to work, but for interim storage, sure! have a few boxes done like that right now, awaiting space.

double or triple bag it, usung freezer zip bags. have heard on a similar thread that the bags' protection rating raises exponentially past the first (i.e. 2 bags may be 2.5x as effective, three goes up even farther).

Very good advice here. I've done it with the fuente bags too and that will work as well.

What are the downsides to long term storage this way?

long term, you have to keep watching the boveda's so they don't die? you get to the point you are keeping multiple boxes, just get a cooler up and running.
