i like the boveda myself. have seen a pillow get squished in transit, and "share" with smokes. by the time that happens with a boveda, the cigars would have been boned already. keep a stash of the 1" square ones on hand for when i am feeling froggy.

I don't even think you need either. I have never had cigars dry out when sending them out. Just make sure the bag you put them in is sealed.

a leaking water pillow? i cant even squeeze a drop out of one that I have in front of me right now. this is the Pamper technology what keeps the baby dry after he wets his diaper.
I see both, and I am not sticking up for one or the other, but for a cheap, temporary humidifier, I use the Pillow.

I rarely include humidification on cigar shipments, but I've used both with success, usually whatever I have handy. I prefer the boveda packs though.

the sticks that are shipped from the factory travel all over the world without any humidification. can't see where a few days in a sealed bag would require any extra either.

I've had a water pillow burst/leak on a trade. Got gooey stuff all over the cigars. Seems like the same could probably happen with boveda under the right (wrong?) conditions, but I haven't seen it yet.

That's my theory.

One big problem I have with water pillows is that they seem to put off a very high humidity sometimes. I imagine due to not filling properly. At this point, if I do put something in there it's going to be Boveda.

if its some aged stuff, then i go w/ 65 boveda
if its a big bag and whereas theres some space, the pillow works
if its fresh new release smokes say like on a split, tight zip seal w/ no humidificator

thats just me
