well, that is why i asked. a cabinet humidor is truly not "airtight". so i am wondering why folks are plugging the drainage wholeWhy do you try to give humidors an air tight seal?
I dont think everyone does, mine was more stable plugged when I tried both ways out so it was an easy decision.well, that is why i asked. a cabinet humidor is truly not "airtight". so i am wondering why folks are plugging the drainage whole

Interesting question... I don't have an answer but an interesting experience:If you are using beads (which I am) wouldn't they just absorb any extra humidity that got in and release as needed?
That's why I plugged mine, had to water beads less with the humidity collected in the bottom. Every couple months I had to swap out the beads with a dry bag when the beads over drain plug got too saturated.Mine is not plugged and also in a place where there is not a large humidity swings, Ron's question got me thinking. If you are using beads (which I am) wouldn't they just absorb any extra humidity that got in and release as needed?
