Hey guys, I have the opportunity to purchase a Haier 18 bottle dual zone cooler. The model number is HVTS18DBVS-01. The guy wants $100 for it. Hoping I could get him down a bit. He was using it for wine. The only complaint he had was the unit ran hot on the outside, but thats because he has it stuffed in a cabinet. Questions: 18 bottle cooler, too small? How about the dual zone? Im thinking I could take the shelf out in between and use it only on the bottom zone, and hopefully that would suffice. Also, what would you offer for this cooler, if at all. My next move is a wine fridge with drawers from Forrest, or the Lauderdale end table, I think. What are your guys thoughts on this?? Thanks in advance!!

My initial thoughts are:

1. dual zone is an unnecessary complication
2. $100 is too much for 18 bottle - I spent $100 on mine, which is a 35 bottle (craigslist)

My $0.02

I actually prefer my wineador over my humidor. It regulates humidity way better and it is a bonus keeping the temp leveled all the time. I think the 18 bottle size is perfect. If you buy custom drawers there will be tons of room. My only suggestion would be to buy a new fridge instead of used. They really aren't that expensive.

Concerning size, it depends on what you're going to use it for... a desktop replacement where you'll be content with 100 singles in it or an unit for box storage/single mix. If the latter, then it's too small.

1) I picked up an 18 bottle off of craig's list for 50$. (I did push for that price).
2) It is too small, plain and simple.
Because of this I'll be turning it right back around for sale, probably at a loss. Learn from my mistake and good luck.
