I've had one of these, rested 9 months, and loved it. I was able to manage the burn with frequent light touch-ups. Here's an excerpt from my smoking log:

Ambient conditions: 55F, 45%RH. Start is peppery on the palate - careful with retrohaling the first half inch. Very chocolaty, very rich, meaty, like drinking very rich, dark, hot chocolate. Good smoke production. Fairly ragged burn needed on-going touch-ups. When the wrapper isn't burning well, the smoke becomes thin and hollow, losing its richness. After the first third, switched to 55-sec intervals, which helped a little. Past the halfway point, it gets smoother, but remains rich and chocolaty.
Excellent feedback. Thanks.

I've always enjoyed these, but try to get them on sale because the msrp is a bit high... Gotta dry box too in my experience.

Really liked the few I've had and think they are the best thing Oliva makes (better than the V Maddie). I don't like the MSRP but they can be found on Cbid and deals like Monster Mashup for $6-$8. At that price I think they are winners for sure...

With most cigars, if you're patient and watch e-tailers sales, you can catch a deal sooner or later. I grabbed some MB3 torpedoes on sale for $3.75 a few months back.

ditto, never have been impressed, Ive always found them to be a bit harsh
Have you tried them with longer rest?

I ask because I'm very sensitive to harshness, and I found the one I tried with 9 months rest to be very smokable. I'm hoping they'll be even smoother with a year or two.

Bumpskies to an old a$$ thread. Smoking my first one of these and have to say it is quite scrumptious! Very nice with the stout I'm drinking. Funny to see how disliked they were a year ago. Anybody change their mind after aging? The MSRP is higher than camel cock, but I got it on sale.

I got a bunch of torpedoes in the humi right now and love em so much. And did you just say scrumptious? One of my favorite adjectives.

Yes I did, and this robusto is! Don't care for the box press tho. Once the dust settles on my return fire I might have to trade you some digital son 6's for a couple. That is if you like the 6's.
