So I got married a month ago and want to buy a 50cab with the code mar 2012 as soon as they are availible.

I thought every year on my anniversary I will smoke a stick out of that cab. Having a really hard time making up my mind since what I really want is not made in 50cab, just imagine a 50cab SW or Esplendidos, monte especial (I coudl go on forever).

Let me know what you think I should buy and why, please keep your recomendation to ccs only and they have to be availible in 50 cabs.

Wow, just imagine any of them after 50 years. Smoking that last one...knowing you've been through 50 years. Very cool idea

I like the analogy too...marriage should get better with time, like fine wine, or in this case, a fine cab of cigars.

I prefer a PC, so I would probably go with a Bolivar PC cab, or for something larger I would probably do a Bolivar Gigantes cab, not sure you could get the box date you want on that though.

Really depends on your personal taste though. Nobody really knows how anything you choose will age over 50 years, even something that could age well for 20+years may age out at 50. Kind of a toss up.

I dont like Bolivar :assaultri

I thought about going with a smaller cigar like Partagas Shorts but I like the idea of a bigger cigar to sit down and smoke for 1-2 hours appeal more to me. I would guess the bigger cigars (DC) are not the best to age 20+ years but I think I wont mind even if they are not extremly good because of the thought behind the purchase and the idea of aging that cab.

I have no real experience with extensive age on any of these. But I would think that the Lusis would probably age well for quite a while. I'm not sure how well the HdMs would hold up past 20-years ... again, I don't know, but I'd be concerned. In any case, get the from your favorite/most trustworthy source, as you want to make as sure as you can that these things will have legs.

BTW, I think this is a cool idea! Now I need to find some stogies from May '99, lol. As well as Dec 2007 and Mar 2010 for the births of my kids.

Wouldn't you like to know?
Love the hoyo DC's. Unfortunately they were hit pretty hard in the bad years. 03's are my fav DC that you can still have a chance of finding and pre 98's have been good to me as well. I haven't smoked much newer production but am unsure how most of it will age with the newer hybrids they have been planting lately. I have worries that the new strains of tobacco may be smoking really well right now but who knows if they will have the staying power of older ones.

I picked other; for the reason of thinking about Mag 50's. They come in a 50 cab, and they are a largerererer stick without being a DC. This would give you the time you want, and I believe they age really well. I don't know how you like them, but just throwing that out there.
My second choice would be Hoyo EE's. They as well come in a 50 cab, and are not smaller cigars. I noticed you like the HdM line already, maybe these are an option.

Excellent point you have and this is my biggest concern, I just don't see them aging as good as older cigars. My dream would be a Partagas 898 cab but I dont see that happening.
