I am still very new here, and I am still trying to expand my smoking experience. What I am looking for is some suggestions. If some of you could please list two, maybe three cigars you think new members should try, I would really appreciate it. My tastes range is pretty wide, mild to full, I want to try a wide variety. I am not concerned so much with the length or RG. I want to compile a list so when I go to my B&M I can stay focused on what to get. After reading a ton of posts, I have a great respect for the amount of knowledge here, and want to tap into that and use it the best way I can. Thanks in advance for any replies.

What have you tried/liked so far? There are a pretty good number of threads along this line already if you search I'm sure you can find a few of them. Just picking 3 cigars off the top of my head right now...I'd say the Jaime Garcia Reserva Connecticut is very good, also the Tatuaje Brown Labels are good (especially the 7th Reserva), and Liga Privada T52 is excellent.

Any size Fuente Hemingway, Oliva V especially the lancero, Tatuaje especially brown labels, Liga Privada. Soooo many others, but those brands are a great place to start exploring, and they cover a pretty wide price range.

Padron 1964 Maduro - Principie
EPC Short Run 2011 or 12
Fuente Anejo
Try something from Illusione - choose what looks tasty to you

That is a small list of a few pretty tasty sticks IMVHO. Mostly med to full. And of you are feeling a little froggy you might try something from the Liga Privada line or maybe even a Viaje Skull and Bones...

Sorry, that was more than just a quick list of 2 or 3 cigars. The EPC may be the best value for your $ on this list

Good luck brother. Let us know what you decide

This is great guys, just what I was looking for. I will update on what I get. I saw the May sampler, just can't swing that right now. But it was oh so tempting.

As a fairly noob cigar smoker myself I will echo this wise Brother here. As I am refining my pallet and what I like, I have found Oliva and Fuente hemmingway to be both friendly to the wallet and providing a good smoke. Of course as he states you can't go wrong with anything liga privada(assuming you can find anything, undercrowns are good and easy to find, but the best ones are hard to find)

Wouldn't you like to know?
I really helps to know what you like. I think most on here would say that Padron Anni, tat 110, tenderloin, Rex, Liga and lots other well respected cigars. None of these work for me. I think the key is to figure out what you like.

Padron 1000 series maduros are a great value and an excellent smoke. In the medium range I like the Nestor Miranda Special Selection rosado and the EPC NWC. If you can find it, Padilla Miami is very good. As for less expensive smokes, can't go wrong with most anything by Perdomo.

Tough to make any suggestions without know what your looking for? My top 5 that everyone should try (price not being a factor)

Ashton VSG
DPG My Father
Tatuaje Reserva
Fuente Opus X
Padron Family Reserve

If i worked at a shop and some total newbie comes in says what 10 cigars should i try without breaking the bank. This is what I would put together for him.

JDN Celebracion
Fuente Hemmingway Short Story
Padron 1000 series natural
Perdomo Lot 23 natural
Torano Exodus
CAO Brazilla
Tatuaje Havana VI
Alec Bradley SCR
PDR Oscuro
RP Vintage 1990

I keep a notebook of stuff i want to try. Write the name and just a few notes on what interests me about the stick. So when i go shopping for something new i just break out the notebook and pick something off the list.

The only thing is...only you will have the taste for what you like.
It's hard to come up with recommendations that will fit your flavor profile unless you specify what flavor you like or looking for.
Being relatively new to cigars can be tricky as your palette will change. If you like spice start of with an Undercrown and then work up to a T-52 or No.9...If you like spice/pepper start off with a Tatuaje Red label's and work into the Brown's.
Try cigars that are Nicaraguan, Dominican, and Honduran each. You'll find that each has there own distinct profile.
Until your palette adjusts it's a crap shoot on which cigars your going to like.
Top blends in my book are...
Tatuaje
Drew Estate Liga Pravada's
DPG's

Pretty much everything I would say has already been said, and the cigars I would list have been listed, but what the hell.

Padron 2000 Maduro
Hemingway Short Story
La Riqueza No 5

Brick House make a nice stick that won't break the bank - High $4-$6.

I go for the smaller cigars, so if you prefer larger ones, just get the different sizes of the above listed cigars. These cigars are low priced enough to buy several, yet good enough to train your palate. Each one, aside from the Brick House, is a gateway into a companies/blenders higher end cigars.

I have not tried the Hemingway, Oliva V, or the LP, so those definitely go on the list. Thanks man.
