Thanks for your thoughts BEN.I didn't like it to be honest. We had these on the first BVH herf as a blind tasting cigar and almost 70 people smoked from 2006 cabs but I can't remember anyone that loved them. Not even the SLR fans.
Be careful with CC's from that time period, there are a lot of problems with them. You may get lucky and find yourself a box with little to no problems, but anybody that does should count themselves lucky.some from 2000 and 01 can be had. Think age would help them?
I have never had one that was not plugged. Have tried several times but every time they plugged. Sucker for good deal and always get burned....just my .02Too mild for me. Look for some 09 DCs. Also 00 & 01 SLR Churchills are notorious for being plugged. (Especially the 00- I've seen entire boxes that were unsmokeable)
From the 70's? Interesting, what was it like? I've been looking for some long term sticks to throw in the humi.Serie A. Ages amazingly. Smoked one from '70s last night and highly recommend it for aging.
Wow, impressive. I read that with eyes wide like a little kid hearing a story, lol. Makes me wonder how the recent ones would hold up to 40 years of age.Very gentle, but rich and robust flavors. Drew like a Padron, just an absolute smoke machine. Citrusy without the bite, I think the best way to describe it would be those orange creamsicles. No coffee/pronounced nut/cocoa of late A's. Maybe a hint of vanilla more than a "nuttiness"...it had a nice finish, just can't recall...it was good, that's all ya need to know. haha
If I had handed it to you, you would not have thought it was old. It holds flavors longer than the Regios, I think.
