My first Habano...

...is what I believe to be a Punch Punch (is this correct? lol). I was gifted this cigar from a brother here and it had about 5 years of age on it. It's about a 5.5x46.

A couple of observations while I smoke my first Cuban.
-the pack is SOLID. seriously one of the hardest packed cigars I've felt
-the burn is razor sharp
-very tight draw
-very, very smooth. the very 1/3 was very sweet, but the 2/3 has transitioned into more spicy and body. flavors are fantastic.

I don't see Punch mentioned very much on here. Is there a specific reason for that?

There are a lot of folks that enjoy Punch on here. Like all brands, there are some good cigars and bad cigars within the line. It is all about preference. I love the DOuble Coronas.

I love the flavor profile of most punch but I have had really bad luck with construction. It does factor in my decision when looking the refresh my stash.

I've got some 07s that I want to compare your band to. That band btw is 09 at latest. It looks off IMO. Very sloppy. Just curious if it was someone on the board with some time here that gifted it. It doesn't mean it's fake. But that band looks bad.

It may look off because it's washed out in the photo. I still have it and can take more pics later.

There are several differences on the band, but we're talking about Punch too, there are differences on the bands on cubancigarwebsite as well. I think it comes down to Punch not being very good with the consistency of their bands... or construction, heh.

I personally like the punch punch, and construction is always an issue with Cubans, you may have another and have a completely enjoyable experience.

Bottom line is...did you enjoy the smoke? I'm thinking you did, and if that's the case, then great! For what it's worth, one of my fave habanos is the JLP...they are a bargain and I love them, but for other folks they are...meh...

If you enjoyed those fantastic flavors, then I say GREAT! I have a punch punch tubo chilling, and can't wait to light it up!
